Our Story

Smart Retirement Biz was founded in response to a critical observation: Nigeria’s most experienced professionals were retiring with valuable expertise that was not being channeled into entrepreneurial ventures. Our founder, Aderonke Awomolo, witnessed this pattern during her 32 years working in the academia and consulting sector. 

We started with a simple mission: to bridge the gap between professional experience and entrepreneurial success. Today, the Smart Retirement Biz project  designs courses and coaching programs for senior professionals transitioning to business ownership.

With 32 years of experience lecturing and consulting in the entrepreneurship space including consulting for  international donor organizations,  Aderonke brings unparalleled insight into both institutional operations and entrepreneurial ventures.
Her diverse background spans several sectors including manufacturing, construction, hospitality, education, creative arts and ICT. This cross-disciplinary expertise enables her to help clients identify unique business opportunities that leverage their professional backgrounds.

Aderonke holds certifications in Business Development, Executive Coaching, and entrepreneurship training methodologies. Her approach combines rigorous methodology with practical wisdom, ensuring that clients receive both structured guidance and adaptable strategies.
